Changes

The sweater is coming along nicely. Sorry I don't have a photo, but the scary camouflage thing that I was afraid was going to happen isn't happening. I still might over dye the whole thing later, but I don't think I'll have to. The colors seem to be blending nicely, although it may be too early to tell just yet.

I'll keep this one short, but I do want to announce something really exciting, albeit non-conclusive -- I am eligible for pseudo-teaching positions at "name brand" universities in New York City. I know, I know... like what? Pace University is looking for an accompanist to compliment their Musical Theater program, and Brooklyn College is looking for a number of adjunct and full-time lecturers in the music field. Granted, my BA is the bare-bones minimum. I wish that I had a PhD or at least a Masters degree, but since I don't, I'll just have to do the best I can.

Hopefully, though, I can get my foot in the door at one of these places. They are looking for someone who would be comfortable coaching a vocal chorale, teach group piano classes, be able to lecture on historical and theoretical topics, and teach ear training. Ummmm.... hello!? That's me. If only they worked with the Theater department... that would be perfect!

I have to write a Curriculum Vitae, which I recently discovered was similar to a resume. Will I be able to write this crap, type up a cover letter, include three professional references, and send it off in time? Even so, would they even consider me over the (I'm sure) countless others who have more experience and higher certifications?

Damn it, they should. I'm pretty fantastic.

Wishing you luck! It's really rough to get a position in academia; I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
